Techset Composition Ltd, with offices in Chennai. Salisbury and London, is one of the foremost suppliers of pre-press services to STM publishing. The company was formed in 1989 and our market has always been the composition and project management of journals and books for STM publishers.  We are one of the fastest growing companies for which this field is still their sole market.  As an established supplier of pre-press services, we have an extremely thorough understanding of all the processes involved in STM publishing, from unedited copy through to electronic files posted on the Web and printed and bound copies delivered to the warehouse.

Techset is comprised of two main areas:

• The Salisbury (UK) office, responsible for all group policy decision making, overall production decisions, all customer contact, daily control of customers’ accounts, and copy-editing.

• The Chennai (India) office, responsible for the majority of the production process, IT and software development, and all web-based and electronic deliverables.

We work for many publishers in the USA and Europe and pride ourselves on our reputation for strong customer relations, making a point of always responding to our customers quickly and in as helpful and supportive a way as possible. 

Techset is at the forefront of current publishing technology and we have a large IT department at our Chennai office.  Much of the work of this department involves the development of software solutions to the changing demands of electronic publishing, whether it be e-books, XML/MathML/SGML first, TeX/LaTeX pagination, HTML conversion, retrospective coding of previously published material, publish when ready journal articles, or journal website management.  We spend an enormous amount of time on research and development to find ways of automating every new requirement, in order to be able to deliver data to the highest standards of integrity and efficiency.
